The Tasmanian Names Index within the TAHO site is the best starting point for investigating the life of any nineteenth century Tasmanian.
The other principal source has been Tasmanian newspapers digitised as part of the National Library of Australia project, TROVE https://trove.nla.gov.au This content is fully searchable using Optical Character Recognition and it’s free! Eat your hearts out UK researchers.
The Tasmanian Government land information site https://maps.thelist.tas.gov.au is also a valuable resource where historic maps exist and can be overlaid on modern mapping.
